UNILAG, BEDFORDSHIRE SIGN MOU ON EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP

The University of Lagos and the University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on educational exchange progamme on Thursday, July 10, 2008 in the Senate Chamber of the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Tolu Odugbemi signed on behalf of his university while Professor Les Ebdon, Vice-Chancellor, University of Bedfordshire signed for his university.

Professor Ebdon who arrived in Nigeria on Wednesday, July 9 for the epoch-making event was accompanied by Mr Goef Notcutt, Regional Director for Africa, University of Bedfordshire and Mr. Ernest Obiesie, Regional Manager for Nigeria.

In his welcome speech, Professor Odugbemi expressed deep appreciation for the visit. He said that the visit was just the beginning of mutual relationship that would benefit staff and students of both institutions. He thanked Professor Ebdon for taking time off to come all the way from UK to sign the agreement.

His words: “You are welcome to our University. Thank you for the visit. I hope and believe that the agreement which we are signing today will yield mutual relationship that will go a long way to expose our students to modern techniques....
